FAQs

Will anyone find out that I went to a therapist?

That is completely up to you. Counselling sessions are private and confidential. The practice is discreetly located and each room is private. Mornington Counselling is bound by confidentiality laws and everything in your session will remain confidential unless; information is subpoenaed by courts, or you or someone else is at serious risk.

How will therapy sessions help me?

Each counselling session is aimed at providing insight and clarity as to what is causing challenges in your life. Working collaboratively, you and the counsellor will set goals and figure out a path forward to achieve them. In the case of trauma or bereavement, Tammie will provide a safe space to explore the impacts on you and help you find a way to move forward to a meaningful life.

Can I get a medicare rebate?

As I do not offer medicare rebates, my sessions are priced lower than most therapists to make sure they are accessible to those who require them.

How many therapy sessions do I need?

Usually sessions are scheduled weekly for 6-12 weeks depending on your needs. This can be reassessed and modified at any stage. You are not locked into any set number of sessions and can decide to stop at any time.

Can I get a refund if I don’t attend?

Yes. If you cancel your appointment at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, you will receive a full refund.
