ABOUT

Mornington Counselling Practice is led by Tammie, a qualified counsellor and registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

Tammie provides professional support for adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, grief, relationship stress, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions. Her approach is grounded, respectful, and focused on helping clients gain insight, emotional clarity, and the tools to move forward with confidence.

Before becoming a counsellor, Tammie worked as a registered nurse and midwife. While she no longer practises in the medical field, this background, as well as her lived experience continues to inform her calm, compassionate presence and her understanding of the emotional complexities people face — particularly around health, grief, parenting, and change.

Tammie also co-authored Lionheart- The Real Life Guide for Adoptive Families.

Sessions are available in person in Mornington or via secure telehealth for clients Australia-wide. Every consultation is tailored to your needs, with a clear focus on building resilience and meaningful progress.

Starting counselling can feel like a big step — here's what to expect at Mornington Counselling Practice.

Whether you're new to therapy or returning after time away, the process is designed to be approachable, respectful, and transparent. If you're unsure whether counselling is right for you, you're welcome to book a short introductory call to ask questions and see if it's the right fit.

In your first session, you’ll work together to understand what’s brought you to counselling, identify priorities, and begin setting clear goals. Each session is structured around your needs and is grounded in active listening, practical strategies, and evidence-informed techniques.

Sessions are 50 minutes in length and are offered in person or via secure telehealth.

To support clients beyond sessions, Mornington Counselling Practice also provides:

Introductory phone calls to ensure a good therapeutic fit
